Tonight, we went to an old standby, Foster's Freeze in Old Torrance.
The great thing about the place, in addition to the ice cream, is it's a great place to chat with complete strangers.
In spite of the fact that it was cold and windy tonight, 5 people were in line waiting for ice cream. We chatted about baseball, Boy Scouts, the old Pussycat theater, the old Farrells on Hawthorne Blvd., restaurants we liked and of course, that it would be a shame if the developer who owned the Foster's Freeze property tore down the place, all while we shivered waiting for our ice cream orders.
Where else would this happen?
